In the spirit of three showers a day and flash flood warning weather, this month’s beer belongs to Brooklyn Summer Ale. Instead of a boldly flavored, heavy, boozy beer, I decided to go with a seasonal summer ale this month. Brooklyn Brewery hasn’t failed me yet (and had a great time visiting their brewery in December), so I picked up a six pack the other day. Couldn’t be more refreshing for this time of the year. Brewed as an English Pale Ale at 5% ABV, it really hits the spot when you just want to enjoy a cold one after sweating your ass off all day. Light color, bready flavor, right amount of carbonation for that refreshing summer feel, and a nice hoppy after taste without the heaviness of an IPA.
